Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. 2Cream together softened butter and maple syrup until well combined, then beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. 4Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. 5Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  6. 6Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  7. 7Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. 8Dust cooled cookies with powdered sugar if desired.
