⏱ 35 minServes 4Indian

Ingredients

  • 250g paneer cheese, cubed
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen peas
  • 3 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. 1Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat and add cumin seeds until they splutter, then add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  2. 2Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. 3Add chopped tomatoes along with turmeric powder and garam masala, stirring well and cooking for 5-7 minutes until tomatoes break down into a paste.
  4. 4Stir in the cream or yogurt and mix until well combined, then add salt to taste.
  5. 5Gently add the paneer cubes and frozen peas to the sauce, stirring carefully to coat everything evenly.
  6. 6Reduce heat to low and simmer for 8-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the peas to cook through without breaking the paneer.
  7. 7Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve hot with rice, naan, or roti.
