Meatball Sub

Tender homemade meatballs smothered in marinara sauce and melted cheese on a crusty sub roll.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 sub rolls

Directions

  1. 1Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Parmesan, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix until just combined.
  2. 2Roll mixture into 16 meatballs and place on a greased baking sheet.
  3. 3Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes until cooked through.
  4. 4Heat marinara sauce in a large pot and add cooked meatballs, simmering for 5 minutes.
  5. 5Slice sub rolls lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
  6. 6Spoon meatballs and sauce into rolls, top with mozzarella cheese, and bake at 375°F for 5 minutes until cheese melts.
  7. 7Serve immediately while hot.
