Ingredients
- •1 large English cucumber, sliced paper-thin
- •3/4 tsp kosher salt
- •3/4 cup sour cream
- •2 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
- •1 tbsp lemon juice
- •1/2 tsp granulated sugar
- •1/4 tsp black pepper
Directions
- 1Toss the cucumber with salt and let it drain in a colander for 15 minutes.
- 2Press the cucumber gently between towels to remove surface moisture without crushing the slices.
- 3Whisk sour cream, dill, lemon juice, sugar, and black pepper until smooth.
- 4Fold the cucumber into the sour-cream dressing until every slice is thoroughly coated.
- 5Chill the sour-cream-coated cucumbers for 10 minutes before serving so the dressing settles around the slices.
💡 Mizeria is intentionally creamier than a vinegar cucumber salad; if the sour cream only lightly glosses the slices, the defining texture is lost.
