Ingredients

  • 1 large English cucumber, sliced paper-thin
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. 1Toss the cucumber with salt and let it drain in a colander for 15 minutes.
  2. 2Press the cucumber gently between towels to remove surface moisture without crushing the slices.
  3. 3Whisk sour cream, dill, lemon juice, sugar, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. 4Fold the cucumber into the sour-cream dressing until every slice is thoroughly coated.
  5. 5Chill the sour-cream-coated cucumbers for 10 minutes before serving so the dressing settles around the slices.

💡 Mizeria is intentionally creamier than a vinegar cucumber salad; if the sour cream only lightly glosses the slices, the defining texture is lost.
