Mushroom and Swiss Burger

Ingredients
- •1.5 lbs ground beef
- •8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
- •4 slices Swiss cheese
- •2 tablespoons butter
- •1 medium onion, sliced
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- •4 burger buns
- •2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Directions
- 1Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties about 0.75 inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.
- 2Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sauté sliced mushrooms and onions until golden and tender, about 8 minutes. Set aside.
- 3In the same skillet, cook burgers over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness.
- 4Top each burger with a slice of Swiss cheese and cook for 1 more minute until melted.
- 5Toast the burger buns lightly if desired, then spread with mayonnaise.
- 6Place each burger on a bun and top with the sautéed mushroom and onion mixture. Serve immediately.
