Mushrooms on Toast
Sautéed garlic and thyme mushrooms served on crispy buttered toast, a classic British breakfast favorite.

Ingredients
- •400g button mushrooms, sliced
- •2 tablespoons butter
- •2 cloves garlic, minced
- •1 teaspoon fresh thyme
- •4 slices bread
- •1 tablespoon olive oil
- •1/2 cup heavy cream
- •to taste salt and black pepper
- •1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Directions
- 1Toast the bread slices until golden brown and butter them generously.
- 2Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 3Add minced garlic and thyme, cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 4Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and tender.
- 5Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 6Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 7Spoon the creamy mushroom mixture over the buttered toast and garnish with fresh parsley.
