Mussels Marinara

Ingredients
- •2 lbs fresh mussels, cleaned and debearded
- •3 tablespoons olive oil
- •4 cloves garlic, minced
- •1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- •1/2 cup dry white wine
- •1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- •2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- 1Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 2Add crushed tomatoes, white wine, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to the pot and bring to a simmer.
- 3Add cleaned mussels to the simmering sauce, cover the pot, and cook for 8-10 minutes until the mussels open.
- 4Discard any mussels that remain closed, stir in fresh basil, and serve immediately in bowls with the marinara sauce and crusty bread.
