Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk, warm
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Directions

  1. 1Mix flour, yeast, milk, sugar, butter, one egg, and salt into a soft dough.
  2. 2Knead for 8 minutes, cover, and let rise for 60 minutes.
  3. 3Divide the dough into eight rounds and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. 4Mix coconut, remaining egg, and egg yolk into a thick topping.
  5. 5Spread coconut topping over each roll and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes.
  6. 6Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar.
