Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops (1 inch thick)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. 1Season both sides of pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. 3Sear pork chops for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 145°F). Transfer to a plate.
  4. 4In the same skillet, melt butter and add diced apples, water, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. 5Simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft and sauce thickens.
  6. 6Stir in lemon juice and return pork chops to the skillet for 1 minute.
  7. 7Serve pork chops topped with warm apple sauce.
