Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak
A perfectly crusted, juicy steak with a golden exterior and tender, buttery interior.
⏱ 20 minServes 2American
Ingredients
- •2 ribeye steaks (1.5 inches thick)
- •2 tablespoons butter
- •2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- •4 cloves garlic, minced
- •3 sprigs fresh rosemary
- •1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions
- 1Remove steaks from refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- 2Heat vegetable oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat until smoking hot, about 2 minutes.
- 3Place steaks in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on the first side without moving them, until a golden crust forms.
- 4Flip steaks, add butter, garlic, and rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, basting with the melted butter.
- 5Transfer steaks to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes before serving with pan drippings.
