Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak

Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak

A perfectly crusted, juicy steak with a golden exterior and tender, buttery interior.

⏱ 20 minServes 2American

Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks (1.5 inches thick)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  1. 1Remove steaks from refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. 2Heat vegetable oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat until smoking hot, about 2 minutes.
  3. 3Place steaks in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on the first side without moving them, until a golden crust forms.
  4. 4Flip steaks, add butter, garlic, and rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, basting with the melted butter.
  5. 5Transfer steaks to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes before serving with pan drippings.
