Ingredients

  • 400g paneer cheese, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 400g canned tomatoes, crushed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1.5 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt to taste salt

Directions

  1. 1Heat oil in a large pan, lightly fry paneer cubes until golden, then remove and set aside.
  2. 2In the same pan, melt butter and sauté chopped onions until golden brown.
  3. 3Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. 4Add crushed tomatoes, garam masala, cumin, chili powder, and sugar; simmer for 10 minutes until tomatoes break down.
  5. 5Stir in cream and cook for 2-3 minutes, then add salt to taste.
  6. 6Gently add fried paneer cubes and simmer for 5 minutes without stirring vigorously.
  7. 7Serve hot with basmati rice or naan bread.
