Paneer Butter Masala
Creamy tomato-based curry with soft paneer cheese cubes in a rich, aromatic butter sauce.

Ingredients
- •400g paneer cheese, cubed
- •2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- •2 tablespoons butter
- •1 medium onion, finely chopped
- •1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- •400g canned tomatoes, crushed
- •1/2 cup heavy cream
- •1.5 teaspoons garam masala
- •1 teaspoon ground cumin
- •1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- •1 teaspoon sugar
- •Salt to taste salt
Directions
- 1Heat oil in a large pan, lightly fry paneer cubes until golden, then remove and set aside.
- 2In the same pan, melt butter and sauté chopped onions until golden brown.
- 3Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- 4Add crushed tomatoes, garam masala, cumin, chili powder, and sugar; simmer for 10 minutes until tomatoes break down.
- 5Stir in cream and cook for 2-3 minutes, then add salt to taste.
- 6Gently add fried paneer cubes and simmer for 5 minutes without stirring vigorously.
- 7Serve hot with basmati rice or naan bread.
