Pastel Brasileiro de Carne (Brazilian Fried Beef Pastry)

Ingredients
- •3 cups all-purpose flour
- •1 cup warm water
- •2 tbsp vegetable oil
- •1 tbsp white vinegar
- •1 tsp salt
- •1 lb ground beef
- •1 medium yellow onion, diced
- •2 cloves garlic, minced
- •1 tomato, diced
- •1/3 cup green olives, chopped
- •5 cups vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- 1Mix flour, water, 2 tablespoons oil, vinegar, and half the salt into a smooth dough.
- 2Rest the dough for 20 minutes.
- 3Cook ground beef, onion, garlic, tomato, olives, and remaining salt for 10 minutes.
- 4Roll the dough very thin and cut it into rectangles.
- 5Fill, fold, and seal each pastel firmly with a fork.
- 6Fry at 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes until blistered and crisp.
