Pear Cake

Ingredients
- •2 cups all-purpose flour
- •1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- •0.5 teaspoon salt
- •0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
- •1 cup granulated sugar
- •2 large eggs
- •0.5 cup sour cream
- •1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- •4 medium pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- •2 tablespoons granulated sugar for topping
- •0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- 2Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, then beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- 3Alternate adding flour mixture and sour cream to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Fold in half the sliced pears.
- 4Pour batter into prepared pan and arrange remaining pear slices on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
- 5Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack.
