Ingredients
- •2 cups all-purpose flour
- •1½ teaspoons baking powder
- •¼ teaspoon salt
- •4 large eggs
- •¾ cup granulated sugar
- •6 tablespoons melted butter
- •2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- •1 teaspoon anise extract
- •2 tablespoons powdered sugar for dusting
Directions
- 1Preheat a pizzelle iron according to manufacturer instructions.
- 2In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 3In a large bowl, beat eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, then stir in melted butter, vanilla extract, and anise extract.
- 4Gently fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
- 5Drop 1 tablespoon of batter onto each mold of the hot pizzelle iron, close lid, and cook for 30-45 seconds until golden brown.
- 6Remove pizzelles and cool on a wire rack.
- 7Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve.
