Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk, warm
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten for brushing

Directions

  1. 1Mix flour, yeast, milk, butter, egg, and half the salt into a soft dough.
  2. 2Knead for 8 minutes, cover, and rise for 60 minutes.
  3. 3Cook ground beef and onion for 8 minutes and season with remaining salt and black pepper.
  4. 4Roll the dough into rectangles and spread cooled meat filling along one edge.
  5. 5Roll into logs, cut into short pieces, and brush with beaten egg.
  6. 6Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden.

💡 Cool the meat filling before rolling so steam does not soften the yeast dough.
