Profiteroles
Delicate choux pastry puffs filled with creamy vanilla custard and drizzled with rich chocolate sauce.

Ingredients
- •1 cup water
- •1/2 cup butter
- •1 cup all-purpose flour
- •4 large eggs
- •2 cups heavy cream
- •3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- •1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- •4 ounces dark chocolate
- •1/4 cup butter
- •1/4 cup milk
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 400°F. Bring water and 1/2 cup butter to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in flour until combined.
- 2Beat in eggs one at a time until mixture is smooth and glossy. Pipe small mounds onto a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- 3While puffs bake, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- 4Once puffs are cool, slice off the top and fill each with a dollop of whipped cream.
- 5For chocolate sauce, melt dark chocolate with 1/4 cup butter and milk over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- 6Drizzle warm chocolate sauce over filled profiteroles and serve immediately.
