Ingredients
- •8 lbs pork shoulder
- •3 tablespoons brown sugar
- •2 tablespoons paprika
- •1 tablespoon garlic powder
- •1 tablespoon onion powder
- •1 tablespoon black pepper
- •2 teaspoons salt
- •1 cup barbecue sauce
- •1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- •1/2 cup chicken broth
Directions
- 1Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl to create the dry rub.
- 2Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder, coating it thoroughly on all sides.
- 3Place the pork in a slow cooker and pour the apple cider vinegar and chicken broth around it. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours until the meat is very tender and shreds easily.
- 4Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks, discarding any large fat pieces.
- 5Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker, stir in the barbecue sauce, and cook on low for 30 additional minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 6Serve warm on buns or as desired.
