Ingredients

  • 5 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 8 hamburger buns

Directions

  1. 1Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. 2Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, coating evenly.
  3. 3Place the pork in a slow cooker, add apple cider vinegar, and cook on low for 8 hours until the meat is very tender.
  4. 4Remove the pork and shred it with two forks, discarding any fat or bones.
  5. 5Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker, stir in barbecue sauce, and heat for 15 minutes.
  6. 6Serve the pulled pork on toasted buns with additional sauce on the side.
