Ingredients
- •2 cups fine bulgur
- •2 cups warm water
- •1 1/2 lb ground beef
- •1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
- •1 green bell pepper, finely diced
- •1/3 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- •1 tsp ground cumin
- •1 tsp dried oregano
- •1 1/2 tsp salt
- •5 cups vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- 1Soak the bulgur in warm water for 20 minutes, then squeeze it very dry.
- 2Cook half the ground beef with onion, bell pepper, cilantro, cumin, oregano, and half the salt.
- 3Mix remaining raw beef with bulgur and remaining salt until cohesive.
- 4Shape bulgur-beef mixture around spoonfuls of cooked filling into pointed ovals.
- 5Fry at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- 6Drain and serve warm.
