Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh or frozen ravioli
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. 1Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. 2Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, then add crushed tomatoes, dried basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.
  3. 3Simmer the marinara sauce for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld and sauce thickens slightly.
  4. 4Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook ravioli according to package directions until they float and are tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  5. 5Drain ravioli gently and divide among serving bowls.
  6. 6Ladle warm marinara sauce over the ravioli, garnish with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese, and serve immediately.
