Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 tbsp salep powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. 1Whisk salep powder and sugar together in a small bowl so the powder disperses evenly.
  2. 2Pour the milk into a saucepan and whisk in the salep-sugar mixture while the milk is still cold.
  3. 3Cook over medium-low heat, whisking constantly, until the drink begins to thicken.
  4. 4Continue cooking 5–7 minutes until it lightly coats the back of a spoon.
  5. 5Divide among warm mugs and dust each serving generously with cinnamon.
  6. 6Serve immediately while hot and silky.

💡 Mix the salep powder with sugar before adding it to milk; this helps prevent the fine powder from forming stubborn lumps.
