Seekh Kebab

Spiced minced meat molded onto skewers and grilled until smoky and tender, served with fresh lemon and onions.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground lamb or beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons gram flour
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • to taste salt

Directions

  1. 1Mix ground meat with chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and cilantro in a large bowl.
  2. 2Add gram flour, cumin, coriander, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and egg; mix until well combined.
  3. 3Divide mixture into equal portions and mold each around flat metal skewers, pressing firmly.
  4. 4Heat oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. 5Place skewers in the pan and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning every 2-3 minutes until all sides are browned and cooked through.
  6. 6Transfer cooked seekh kebabs to a serving plate and garnish with fresh lemon juice and sliced onions.
  7. 7Serve hot with mint chutney, sliced onions, and lemon wedges on the side.
