Sesame Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. 1Mix flour, cornstarch, and salt in a bowl. Coat chicken pieces evenly with the flour mixture.
  2. 2Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
  3. 3In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, garlic, and ginger.
  4. 4Return chicken to the skillet and pour the sauce over it. Toss to coat evenly and simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  5. 5Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds. Serve over steamed rice.
