Shrimp Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 lemon slices fresh lemon
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • for serving ice

Directions

  1. 1Bring water to a boil in a large pot with salt and lemon slices.
  2. 2Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and cooked through, then drain and transfer to ice water to chill completely.
  3. 3Mix ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce in a bowl to make the cocktail sauce.
  4. 4Arrange crushed ice in cocktail glasses and divide chilled shrimp around the rim of each glass.
  5. 5Fill a small serving bowl with cocktail sauce and place in the center of the shrimp arrangement.
  6. 6Serve immediately with small cocktail forks or toothpicks for dipping.
