Shrimp Scampi

Succulent shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, and butter, served over pasta for a restaurant-quality Italian-American classic.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound spaghetti or linguine
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • to taste salt and black pepper

Directions

  1. 1Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. 2Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. 3Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
  4. 4Pour in white wine and lemon juice, bringing to a simmer and cooking for 1-2 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. 5Toss cooked pasta into the skillet with the shrimp and sauce, stirring gently to combine.
  6. 6Season with salt and pepper to taste, then transfer to serving plates and garnish with fresh parsley.
