Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken
Sticky, sweet, garlicky sauce clinging to juicy chicken thighs — this is the easiest weeknight dinner that tastes like you tried way harder than you did. Serve it over steamed rice and let the sauce do all the talking.

Ingredients
- •2 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
- •0.33 cup honey
- •0.25 cup soy sauce
- •5 garlic cloves, minced
- •3 tbsp ketchup
- •1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- •1 tsp sesame oil
- •2 tbsp cornstarch
- •2 tbsp cold water
- •to taste salt and pepper
- •1 tsp sesame seeds, for garnish
- •2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
- •3 cups cooked white rice, for serving
Directions
- 1Season chicken thighs lightly with salt and pepper and place in the slow cooker.
- 2Whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil; pour over chicken.
- 3Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2.5 hours until chicken is cooked through.
- 4Remove chicken and set aside; switch slow cooker to HIGH.
- 5Whisk cornstarch and cold water together until smooth; stir into cooking liquid in the slow cooker.
- 6Cook uncovered on HIGH for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- 7Return chicken to the sauce, toss to coat, and serve over rice garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
💡 For extra caramelisation, after step 3 you can place the chicken on a foil-lined baking sheet and broil for 3–4 minutes while the sauce thickens — totally optional but gorgeous.
