Ingredients
- •2 cups fine cornmeal
- •3 cups water
- •1 tsp salt
- •1 tbsp granulated sugar
- •1 tbsp unsalted butter
- •8 oz queso blanco, cut into sticks
- •4 cups vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- 1Bring water, salt, sugar, and butter to a boil.
- 2Whisk in cornmeal and cook for 3 minutes until a thick dough forms.
- 3Cool the dough for 10 minutes until safe to handle.
- 4Wrap portions of cornmeal dough around the queso blanco sticks.
- 5Fry at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes until golden.
- 6Drain briefly and serve warm.
