Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare

A classic Italian pasta dish loaded with fresh seafood, garlic, and white wine in a light tomato broth.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 1 lb mixed seafood (clams, mussels, shrimp)
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • to taste salt and black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. 1Bring a large pot of salted water to boil and cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.
  2. 2Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. 3Add white wine and let it reduce by half, about 2 minutes.
  4. 4Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. 5Add the seafood to the sauce and cook for 5-7 minutes until clams and mussels open and shrimp turn pink; discard any unopened shellfish.
  6. 6Drain pasta and add to the seafood sauce, tossing to combine.
  7. 7Stir in butter and fresh parsley, season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve immediately.
