Ingredients
- •4 cups cooked short-grain white rice, warm
- •1 can Spam, cut into 8 slices
- •3 tbsp soy sauce
- •2 tbsp brown sugar
- •1 tbsp rice vinegar
- •4 nori sheets, cut into wide strips
- •1 tbsp sesame seeds
Directions
- 1Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar until the sugar dissolves.
- 2Pan-fry the Spam slices for 2 minutes per side until lightly browned.
- 3Pour in the soy mixture and turn the Spam until glossy and reduced, about 2 minutes.
- 4Press warm rice firmly into eight compact rectangular blocks.
- 5Top each rice block with glazed Spam and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- 6Wrap each musubi with a strip of nori and serve warm or at room temperature.
💡 Pack the rice firmly while it is warm; loose grains make the musubi crumble as soon as the nori is wrapped.
