Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage, sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 dried red chilies, whole
  • 3 green onions sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ cup vegetable broth or water

Directions

  1. 1Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until shimmering.
  2. 2Add dried chilies and minced garlic, stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. 3Add the sliced cabbage and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, tossing frequently until it begins to soften.
  4. 4Pour in soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and vegetable broth, then stir well to combine.
  5. 5Continue stir-frying for another 3-4 minutes until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crispy at the edges.
  6. 6Add white pepper and green onions, toss gently for another minute.
  7. 7Serve immediately while hot as a main dish or side.
