Stir-Fried Mushrooms with Garlic and Soy

Ingredients

  • 1 lb mixed mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water

Directions

  1. 1Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until shimmering.
  2. 2Add minced garlic and ginger, stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. 3Add sliced mushrooms and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until they release their moisture and begin to brown.
  4. 4Mix cornstarch with water, then pour into the wok along with soy sauce, sugar, and white pepper.
  5. 5Stir continuously for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the mushrooms.
  6. 6Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil.
  7. 7Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately over steamed rice.
