Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs firm white fish fillets (cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons tandoori masala powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

Directions

  1. 1Mix yogurt, tandoori masala, oil, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl to create the marinade.
  2. 2Place fish fillets in a shallow dish and coat generously with the tandoori marinade, ensuring even coverage. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.
  3. 3Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  4. 4Arrange sliced onions on the grill and grill for 2-3 minutes until softened, then push to the side.
  5. 5Place marinated fish fillets on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through and charred at the edges.
  6. 6Transfer grilled fish and onions to a serving platter and garnish with fresh lemon wedges and cilantro if desired.
