Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  1. 1Mix flour, olive oil, wine, fennel seeds, and salt into a smooth firm dough.
  2. 2Rest the dough for 15 minutes.
  3. 3Roll small pieces into ropes and join the ends to form rings.
  4. 4Boil the rings in batches until they float, then drain.
  5. 5Arrange on a baking sheet.
  6. 6Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 minutes until dry and deeply crisp.

💡 Boiling before baking gives taralli their compact, crunchy texture rather than a bread-like crumb.
