Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1.5 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. 1Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. 2Add diced onion and cook for 3 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic, chili powder, and cumin, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. 3Pour in crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and chicken broth. Stir well to combine.
  4. 4Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. 5Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot with desired toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or green onions.
