Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 12 oz whole grain pasta
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. 1Combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix gently until just combined.
  2. 2Roll mixture into 16-20 meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  3. 3Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown meatballs on all sides for 5-7 minutes, working in batches if needed.
  4. 4Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. 5Meanwhile, cook whole grain pasta according to package directions; drain and divide among serving bowls.
  6. 6Spoon meatballs and sauce over pasta and serve hot.
