Chewy chocolate cookies loaded with pecans and caramel that taste like the classic turtle candy.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 24 caramel candies, unwrapped

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. 2Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. 3Cream butter and both sugars until fluffy, then beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. 4Fold flour mixture into wet ingredients, then stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  5. 5Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets, press a caramel into the center of each, and top with more dough to partially cover.
  6. 6Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
