- •1 cup all-purpose flour
- •1 tablespoon baking powder
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •6 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
- •3/4 cup buttermilk
- •1 tablespoon honey
- •1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2Whisk together whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
- 3Cut cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4Stir honey into buttermilk, then gently fold into the dry ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
- 5Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat to 3/4-inch thickness, then cut into 12 biscuits using a round cutter.
- 6Place biscuits on prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- 7Cool for 2 minutes before serving warm with butter or jam.
