Wonton Noodle Soup

Silky wontons filled with pork and shrimp swim in a savory broth with springy egg noodles and fresh bok choy.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz ground pork
  • 4 oz shrimp, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 8 oz fresh egg noodles
  • 2 cups bok choy, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Directions

  1. 1Mix ground pork, shrimp, 1 tbsp soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar in a bowl.
  2. 2Place 1 teaspoon filling in center of each wonton wrapper, wet edges with water, fold in half, then bring corners together and pinch to seal.
  3. 3Bring chicken broth to boil in a large pot with garlic and ginger.
  4. 4Add wontons to boiling broth and cook for 5-7 minutes until they float to the surface.
  5. 5Cook egg noodles separately according to package directions, then drain.
  6. 6Add cooked noodles and bok choy to the broth and simmer for 2-3 minutes until bok choy is tender.
  7. 7Stir in remaining 1 tbsp soy sauce and divide soup among bowls.
  8. 8Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
