Yakitori
Succulent grilled chicken skewers glazed with a sweet and savory soy-based sauce, served with charred edges and tender meat.

Ingredients
- •1.5 lbs boneless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- •1/2 cup soy sauce
- •1/4 cup mirin
- •2 tbsp sugar
- •2 cloves garlic, minced
- •1 tbsp ginger, grated
- •2 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
- •1 tbsp vegetable oil
- •1 tbsp sake
- •1 tsp sesame seeds
Directions
- 1Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes. Thread chicken pieces and green onion pieces alternately onto skewers.
- 2Combine soy sauce, mirin, sugar, garlic, ginger, and sake in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 3Preheat grill or grill pan to high heat and brush with oil.
- 4Grill skewers for 2-3 minutes per side until chicken is cooked through, basting generously with the sauce in the last minute of cooking.
- 5Arrange yakitori on a serving plate and drizzle with remaining sauce, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
